The 1920s was the first mass-photographed decade

Kodak's Brownie cameras and Vest Pocket Autographic film made the 1920s the first decade where ordinary families could afford to photograph everyday life. The flip side: most surviving 1920s prints are small, contact-printed silver-gelatin photographs that have spent a century stuck in albums with acidic paper, fading and yellowing as they go.

Our AI restores the original tonal range, removes age-yellowing, and repairs the soft scratches and ring marks that come from a hundred years of handling. If you want to see flapper dresses in their original colours, Comprehensive Restoration adds period-accurate colourisation — pastel makeup, muted earth tones, and the distinctive jewel-tone fashion palette of the era.

Small originals, big results

1920s contact prints were typically 2½×4¼ inches — tiny by modern standards. Our pipeline pairs restoration with optional 4× upscaling so you can print a wallet-sized 1925 original at A4 or larger without losing detail. Use Comprehensive Restoration for the full treatment, or chain Standard Restoration → Upscale for finer control.
